The Alamo Area Council of Governments IDD Services departments provides the community services and supports for eligible adults and children with intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, and related conditions and their families in Bexar County:

Catholic Charities
Food, clothing, rent, utilities, and immigration. Assistance with SNAP, Medicaid/CHIP, and TANF benefits applications. Refugee services. Children & Family services.
Society of St. Vincent De Paul
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul operates the Family and Community Assistance Program in order to assist community members who find themselves in financial difficulty. Limited financial assistance is provided for expenses such as utility bills, rent, funeral arrangements, and medication. Our goal is to ensure you remain in your home. Through our Referral Program, we can also provide assistance to connect you to a variety of agencies to help your family. Please note, this program is limited to very low-income individuals as outlined by the Department of Housing and Urban Development. For more information on assistance, please call (210) 864-2151.

disABILITYsa.org is a collaborative online tool for sharing information, resources, ideas, and support between people with all types of disabilities; highlighting organizations and businesses that provide these services; and advancing public awareness, respect, and consideration for the success of people with disabilities. Since going live in 2007, disABILITYsa has given over 16,000 unique visitors access to useful information about programs, services, legislation, and “Real People” stories that impact individuals with all types of disabilities in San Antonio and surrounding communities.
